CONCACAF stands for Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football — of which the United States  is a member.

Their regional championship is known as the Gold Cup, and has been held since 1991 (before that, it was the CONCACAF Championship). The competiton is now held every two years and usually hosted by the United States.
